We were, for a period of nearly 35 years, the only amanteur club responsible for the management and operation of a motor-racing circuit in the UK. Following the cessation of racing in 1982, following the purchase of the racecourse by the Jockey Club, the club diversified into single-venue stage rallies, sprints and weekend track days.

| [ 19 ] British Rally Marshals Club
The British Rally Marshals Club was formed in 1980 by a group of people within the British Motorsport Marshals Club who all had a common interest in rally marshalling. Back in 1980 the "mission" of the BRMC was to promote Safer Motor Sport and that remains the club's primary objective to this day. The club is organised into six regions, each covering a defined area of the country. It offers members the opportunity to marshal at virtually any event they wish, coordinating volunteering and liaising with the organising clubs. The club has its own insurance scheme to provide members with extra cover whilst they are marshalling at or travelling to a recognised event. Unlike many motor clubs the BRMC does not exist primarily for competition members or for it's social life. That is not to say that we do not run competitive events or are we all boring antisocial xenophobes. In previous years the BRMC has run Single Venue rallies (Multi Use rallies in modern MSA speak). The regions that make up the club organise varied social events throughout the year. The BRMC is also currently represented on the MSA Rallies Committee, MSA Volunteers & Officials Advisory Panel, MSA Marshals Working Group & MSA Training Review Group.
| [ 20 ] British Women Racing Drivers' Club
The BWRDC was founded in 1962 by Mary Wheeler MBE as a forum for the Women who raced in the upper echelons of the sport as the BRDC would not consider women for their membership at that time. It quickly widened its interests to include Hillclimbs and Sprints, and later encompassed Rallies and Karting, and lowered its eligibility from holding an International license to being qualified to hold a National A licence. We do not organise competitive events but members claim points in their discipline from any event run under an MSA permit, with points for starting, status of event and position in class (according to the number of starters in that class). We hold an Annual Awards presentation with some impressive perpetual awards and usually organise at least one other, normally more social than competitive, event per year, plus attending a number of exhibitions and shows. Our membership has now risen to well in excess of 150 of which between 20 and 30 take part in speed events or rallies and goegraphically ranges across the whole of the UK. I was asked at our AGM last Saturday if we could consider joining Regional Associations as this would assist our speed and rally members so I circulated an email on Monday asking for advice of which Regional Associations would benifit them. I have received 12 responses so far and the AWMMC is in the top 3. We do also have male members in our "Supporters" section who are not eligible for entering our Championships, but can take advantage of any other membership benifits.
